Here we go, Here we go!

Napoleon ledert Genoa ab! That's how the Germans might describe the 7-0 defeat Napoleon inflicted on Genoa Tuesday night in Findlay. Napoleon scored all seven of its goals in the first half, allowing Coach Tim Carney to give the starters plenty of rest. The bench squad played Genoa's starting 11 evenly throughout the second half, preserving another shutout for the stout Napoleon defense.

Next up is the winner of the Bay Village-Medina Highland match on Saturday at 3pm in Ashland.

The scoreboard says it all.....

Revenge is a dish best served cold, and Mother Nature provided the ideal setting for Napoleon to avenge an early-season loss to Lima Shawnee on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats shook off the elements and an early-morning rendezvous with the ACT's to hand the Lima Shawnee Indians a 2-0 defeat in the district championship in Wapakoneta. Napoleon led 1-0 at halftime thanks to a Lima Shawnee own goal when Lee Hunter's pass was deflected into the net by a Lima Shawnee defender. Napoleon closed the scoring nine minutes into the second half when Seth Barry's free kick landed at the feet of Cole Gerken, who pounded the ball past the Shawnee goalkeeper. Napoleon goalie Brody Tejkl recorded his third shutout of the playoffs.
Saturday's win was historic on many levels for the Wildcats, who won their first-ever district championship and set a single-season record for victories with 16.

A good week for NHS Soccer (so far)

Napoleon's girls have had a good week, with the JV's defeating Eastwood 4-2 and the Varsity prevailing over Toledo Start 4-1. Both games were chippy, physical contests, marred by dirty play from Napoleon's opponents, and poor officiating. Rumor has it that the goal calls could be heard at West Elementary School. (In fairness, the extra volume was necessary to drown out the idiot loudmouth opposing parents) Kudos to the Napoleon Area Schools for installing the "Spinal Tap" model amps & speakers (you know, the kind that can be dialed up to "11" instead of "10") at Loose Field.

Napoleon's boys achieved a glorious victory over the hated Defiance Bulldogs 2-1, in a makeup of a makeup of a makeup of a previously scheduled game.
